Brennan Boesch Named 2014 PCL All-Star

The Pacific Coast League unveiled its representatives for the 2014 Triple-A All-Star Game today. The Salt Lake Bees will be represented by outfielder Brennan Boesch. The Los Angeles, California native leads Bees batters with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs, while hitting for a .335 average. Boesch was named PCL Player of the Week for the week of June 16-22.

Boesch, a former Detroit Tigers’ third round draft pick in 2006 out of the University of California-Berkley, is in his first season in the Angels’ organization. The 29-year old has been selected to three other All-Star teams, including the 2006 New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star team and both the Mid-Season and Post-Season All-Star squad in the 2009 Eastern League. Boesch was twice named AL Rookie of the Month with the Detroit Tigers in 2010 and has appeared in seven games with the Angels this season, collecting three hits in 13 at-bats.
