Building on the Past, Working Hard Toward His Best Season Ever

While rehabbing a shoulder injury, Brennan Boesch is released to make room on the Yankees major league roster for an infield replacement for the reinjured Derek Jeter. Dayn Perry says, “The Yankees’ decision to release Brennan Boesch is a matter of timing, not talent,” Boesch’s agent Brodie Van Wagenen told CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman. “Brennan’s rehab on his shoulder is going well and he expects to be full strength…”

Before being sidelined, Boesch was on his way to Career Bests. In the month before his injury, Boesch was on a tear hitting .438 BA, .688 slugging %, 1.125 OPS, including two clutch game-winning hits.
